Backpacks are packed, alarms are going off a little earlier, and kids across Bluffton, South Carolina are heading back to school!


I want to wish all of our local students, teachers, staff, and parents an amazing and successful school year filled with new friendships, new experiences, and plenty of great memories.

They Grow Up Way Too Fast!

The beginning of a new school year is one of those little milestones that deserves to be remembered.


I recently photographed a back-to-school session here in Bluffton, and it was such a fun reminder of why these photos matter. Kids change so much from one school year to the next, and having a great portrait gives parents something special to look back on years from now.


And if school has already started, it’s definitely not too late for back-to-school photos!

And Maybe We Need an End-of-School Session Too…

 

Because we all know the person who shows up in August isn't necessarily the same person walking out in May.


I'm thinking “First Day vs. Last Day” portraits.


First day: fresh haircut, perfect outfit, new backpack, big smile.


Last day: chaotic hair, crooked backpack, coffee for the teachers, completely over it, and just trying to make it to summer.



Maybe we recreate the exact same photo at the end of the school year and see what survived.


Kids, teachers… everyone is invited.


Honestly, that might be the photo worth framing.
